Stephanie Paul is a Chicago-based choreographer, director, performer, and educator whose artistic quest is to affirm the visual, sonic, and storytelling power of all bodies and all people. Stephanie is the Founding Artistic Director of Be the Groove, Chicago's high-energy drum, body percussion, and dance ensemble, and an Artistic Associate with Chicago Dance Crash, the premiere fusion-style contemporary dance company in the Midwest. She has set choreography and taught at multiple universities including Columbia College Chicago, Ohio Northern University, and her alma mater, Northwestern University. Stephanie works extensively in theater as a Resident Director for Albany Park Theater Project, a nationally renowned youth theater company that creates original plays based on people's real-life stories. Theater credits include Learning Curve, Feast, Home/Land (Albany Park Theater Project); Short Shakespeare! Romeo + Juliet (Chicago Shakespeare); Water by the Spoonful (Court Theatre); and In the Red and Brown Water (Northwestern University). Regional credits include The Royale (City Theatre, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis).
