Stephanie Shum (she/her) is an actor and theater administrator based in Chicago with a deep love for developing new works. As an actor, she has performed and workshopped new plays with Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, American Theater Company, The Neo-Futurists, A Red Orchid Theatre, The New Coordinates, The Gift Theatre, Steep Theatre, Broken Nose Theatre, About Face Theatre, First Floor Theater, 16th Street Theater, and First Folio Theatre, among others. Regionally, she has worked with TheatreSquared and Milwaukee Rep. She is represented by Grossman & Jack Talent and is a graduate of the School at Steppenwolf.
She was formerly the Co-Artistic Director (among other roles) of The New Coordinates. In her time there, she produced more than twenty world premiere productions and facilitated the development of many more. She is currently the Director of Development at A Red Orchid Theatre.
