Become a champion of Chicago artists by supporting the 2023 3Arts Community Award campaign.

Every contribution, from $5 and up, will collectively fund a $30,000 unrestricted award to honor an outstanding artist whose presence and work uplift our community.

Any funds raised above our goal will refuel our 3ER (3Arts Emergency Response) fund. Originally launched during the height of pandemic shutdowns, this fund continues to support 3Arts artists with urgent needs.

About This Project

“Receiving the Community Award really lights me up. I've always wanted to be a part of a renaissance. Old folks in church used to call it "revival." Something stirs up in each of us and we work together again, because we remember who we are and we remember what matters - and what sustains us as living beings.”
~Nashon Holloway, 2022 3Arts/BMO Harris Bank Community Awardee

Each year, ten Chicago artists who reflect our mission receive 3Arts Awards of $30,000, with no strings attached. Artists may use the awards to support new work, pay off debt, purchase equipment, travel, or start a savings account—or however they wish. For most of them, our award is the first they have received.

An unrestricted award is significant on its own, but 3Arts Awards represent more than just cash. They are the entry point to career-spanning support that helps artists build momentum over time. 3Arts awardees are eligible for project funding, residency fellowships, informal and formal professional development, and promotion. Learn more about the 3Arts Awards selection process and past recipients.

Save the date! We will announce the new Community Award recipient on November 13 during the 2023 3Arts Awards Homecoming Reunion.
